Past Pictures

These photos were taken for a project in my Visual Media course I took last winter.  I used a Canon SL-1, and I used a Tamron 70-300 mm. macro lens for all except the last two shots (for those I used the stock 18-55 Canon lens).  I used auto settings–typically portrait or landscape–and I enjoyed the touchscreen option of tapping the touchscreen to focus.  I shot in the late afternoon before the sun went behind the buildings so I could get better lighting.  I only touched up levels in Photoshop, and didn’t really do much post-production outside of that.

  1. I definitely liked the scenery picture the best, but I also really enjoyed the creativity of the batman picture. I haven’t seen much, if any of photos like that before and it made me laugh, in a good way 🙂 I was wondering if you remember much about when and how you captured the scenery picture? I’d like to know how to preserve the pinks and purples of the sky the way you did.

  2. Great pictures. I love the ones you got of the ice on the edge of the roof. The way the light filters through them is awesome. I also really love the sunset picture you took. The colors you were able to capture are beautiful.

    • Thank you so much Alexa, the icicles are probably my favorite pictures I’ve taken and I always feel like I’m the only one who feels that way. The roof was falling in a little so they froze crooked like that. Thanks for the feedback 🙂

  3. I love the winter look on your past photos. Winter is my favorite time of year because its just so pretty! I’m also a fan of Batman so you get brownie points for that haha. I really like the angles and editing that you have chosen to do on your other photos as well. Keep up the great work!

    • It’s always good to meet a fellow Batman fan! And I appreciate that, I actually hate winter more than anything, but I do like how pretty it is. It’s probably it’s one redeeming quality besides Christmas 😉
